cancer treatment - physiotherapy
After breast surgery, physiotherapy is important to ensure that you regain full use and mobility of your arm and shoulder and to assist the healing process. You should see the physiotherapist within two weeks of your surgery if possible before stiffness occurs. This is particularly important if you have had a mastectomy, axillary surgery or a reconstruction. The physiotherapist will assess your range of movement and current strength before customising an exercise plan for you. It is important that you continue to do these exercises at home.
The cost of physiotherapy is normally covered by health insurance.
